What is FRAEW and PAS 9980?
A FRAEW (Fire Risk Appraisal of External Walls) is a detailed assessment of the fire risk associated with a building's external wall construction. PAS 9980 provides risk-based methodology and benchmark criteria for fire risk assessment of the external wall system in existing blocks of flats.
It provides a structured approach to determining the level of risk and considering proportionate mitigation or remedial measures.
